Jodie Sweetin's Dancing with the Stars Blog: Why I'm Thrilled to Have Keo Motsepe as a Partner

I cannot tell you how excited I was to find out that I was going to be on DWTS.

There had been discussions about me being on the show last season. I had my fingers crossed and was holding my breath that it would happen, but the scheduling didn't work out and I was really disappointed.

But now it's all really happening and the time has been flying by.

When I first walked in to the rehearsal room and found out that I would be partnered with Keo, I was thrilled. I did have friends ask if I was worried because he's never made it very far in the competition, but I take that as a positive. I am so glad that I'm with someone who is as hungry for the win as I am.

And from that first day, we hit it off. Keo not only cares about how I learn the dance, he also in interested in how I am doing as a person and what is going on in my life outside the ballroom.

He's already gotten to know me so well. He can tell when I'm tired or frustrated and knows how to give me what I need from a teacher. Yes it's a competition, but we are also focusing on having fun and making the most of every experience.

I have some more dance experience than Keo's past partners, and he is definitely taking advantage of that. But just because I am a little more familiar with the terminology and have a little rhythm doesn't mean that the ballroom style has come easily to me.

Our first dance is the tango, which is super complex. Keo says a lot of teams use the first week to show off personalities and showmanship, but we are also pushing ourselves to do a difficult routine that can show off technique as well.

When I first started thinking about the live shows, I was really nervous about forgetting choreography. But now I feel like we've rehearsed so much that the moves have become second nature. With that fear out of my mind, I'm excited to feed off the energy of the live audience and give them a great show.

We've had some really strong rehearsals, so now I just have to trust that Keo and I have prepared enough and let go and enjoy the night!
