Carice van Houten is expecting her first child with Guy Pearce, and she confirmed the news in the funniest way.
The Game Of Thrones star, who plays The Red Woman Melisandre in the series, took to Twitter to get in there with a joke before anyone else.
Carice, 39, tweeted: ‘Ok. I’m ready for your shadowbaby jokes.’
Game Of Thrones fans will get the joke as she famously gave birth to a shadow that assassinates Renly and allows Stannis to take control of his army.
Carice’s co-star Liam Cunningham couldn’t resist a funny reply as he tweeted:
His character Davos was Stannis’ right hand man and cared much for his king’s daughter who Melisandre convinced to burn at the stake. No wonder he doesn’t want to get involved with this one!
And of course, soon came in more funny GOT-related tweets about her happy news.
Even dad-to-be himself, Guy, 48, made a joke!
